Hair Thinning, Explained
Postpartum shedding is telogen effluvium: the hormonal drop after birth pushes an unusually large share of follicles into their resting phase at once, so they shed together.
It begins two to four months after delivery and resolves on its own within six to twelve months. The follicles are dormant, not lost.
